July 26, 2024 – Illinois Bound
I left the small town of Shoals early in the morning. The earth gave great weather for the duration of the day. It rained a little bit last night before I passed out and went to sleep. The ride of the day took me through Loogootee, Washington, and then to Vincennes. Vincennes is on the Indiana/Illinois border. I have decided to stay here for a day or so, because there is quite a lot to see around here. First, there is the George Rogers Clark Memorial Monument. Second, there is a U.S. Army/military museum. Third, there is a riverwalk along the Wabash River. Fourth, there is a Red Skelton Museum. Fifth, there is amazing architecture and many photo ops. Last, but not least, there are other museums (that I probably won't have time to visit).
This morning, I'm at the Old Thyme Diner getting breakfast. I ate two eggs over medium, wheat toast, bacon, and pancakes with syrup. I also drank a few cups of French vanilla coffee. I'm off to enjoy the sights of the city now.
