September 12, 2024 – America and Jesus Take 1

 

Verse 1:

It seems our world has fallen

into a black and starless night.

Since the fall of man

when Adam took a bite.

Cain killed Abel, and

the Son of Man was crucified.

Wars and rumors of wars

where countless men have died.

But 50 stars are shining

in this dark and dying age.

As history is repeating,

freedom takes the stage.

This is a land of opportunity.

The Son of God brings liberty.

Stars and stripes of victory.

The flood waters have risen.

Our language is confused

from Babel until now.

Brother is killing brother.

Jesus wears a thorny crown.

Nation is against nation.

Our land is going to drown.

But the stars and stripes are waving

and bring hope to our world.

Fly that flag of freedom.

Let your banner be unfurled.

in the starless night.

Man has been redeemed.

May we reflect the Son.

May America shine Gods light.
